TITLE:

  • The club shall be called ‘Kingston Kestrels Sledge Hockey Club’ here after to be referred to as the club.
  • The team shall be called ‘Kingston Kestrels’.
  • The club (Kingston Kestrels Sledge Hockey Club) shall be affiliated with the BSHA (British Sledge Hockey Association) www.bsha.co.uk.
    .

OBJECTIVES:

  • The objectives of the club shall be to foster and promote an interest in the physical, social and therapeutic benefits of sledge hockey (commonly known as ‘Ice Hockey for Disabled’).
  • The club will aim to provide an opportunity for disabled and none disabled to take part in sledge hockey whether for recreational or competition.

MEMBERSHIP:

  • Membership of the club shall be open to anyone after completing a membership application form
  • Membership shall be free for the club.
  • Each club member shall be registered with the BSHA, this carries a annual fee off:-

1. Adults above the age of 16 £20.00
2. Juniors Under 16 years of age £15.00

  • The above fee is not fixed and could change for year to year at the discretion of the BSHA committee.
  • This fee is split in to two parts:-

1. £5 for the BSHA this is to help the association develop sledge hockey accro9ss the country
2. £10.00 (juniors) - £15 (Adults) is to be paid to the IHPA (Ice Hockey Players Association). This is to cover member’s public liability insurance for participating in sledge hockey.

EQUAL OPPERTUNITIES:

The clubs is open to any person:-

  • Religion and believes
  • The club will not tolerate any form of racism or sexism, it will endeavor to ensure that an equal opps program is running at all times

THE COMMITTEE:

  • All officers shall be selected at the AGM.
  • The AGM is held each year, in the month of June.
  • Each member shall be notified of the AGM, with nominations of the following posts:-

1. Chairperson
2. Treasurer
3. Manager
4. Sectary
5. Players representative

  • All officers shall be elected for a period of one year.
  • Officers can be re-elected for the same posts at the following AGM.

THE DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE:

  • To control the affairs of the club on behalf of its members.
  • To keep an accurate account of the finances.
  • The committee is responsible for appointing the following:-

1. Appointing the coach
2. Appointing any escorts for traveling purposes

CHAIRPERSON:

  • To chair any meetings, ensuring that all members and committee members have a say in the clubs future.

TREASURER:

  • To keep up to date records of clubs finance
  • To keep all cheque books and club statements
  • To ensure that all requests for monies belonging to the club is being spent for the benefit of the club.
  • To collect subs for each player attending practise sessions.
  • To ensure all monies raised for the club is banked at the clubs bank
  • To ensure that the clubs bank account if the best for the club.
  • To provide an accurate accounts of the clubs finance at the AGM or on reasonable request.

MANAGER:

  • To manager the club
  • Fundraising ideas and opportunities
  • To liaison with other club managers to arrange games
  • To liaison with other clubs in different countries to arrange games
  • To ensure all steps have been taken when traveling away:-

1. Flights or other travelling arrangements
2. Accommodation
3. Tournament information (example number of club players taking part)
4. Team shirts playing in.

SECATARY:

  • Take minutes at meetings including AGM
  • Ensure minutes are available for each and every member
  • Post out any letters concerning club activities

PLAYERS REP:

  • To bring any members concerns re the club or other issues to the committee
  • Voice the members views at meetings

ALTERATIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION:

  • Any alterations to the constitution can only take part at the next AGM:

1. Any alterations will only be passed is two-thirds of the members agree
2. If proposed alterations are voted in, they will be implement in no less then 21 (twenty one) days.

DISSOLUTION:

If the club goes in to dissolution, the following shall happen to equipment and any funds within the clubs bank account:-

1. Equipment belonging to the club will be donated to the BSHA or another sledge hockey club
2. Donate any funds in the clubs bank account to the BSHA/Other sledge hockey clubs or a nominated charity
3. Close the clubs bank account
